The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has said that former presidential candidate Peter Obi was not familiar with the party’s manifesto during discussions within the opposition coalition.
Speaking on ARISE Television’s _Prime Time_ on Monday, Abdullahi said the ADC spent months developing a detailed policy document covering security, the economy, and fuel subsidy reforms. He alleged that Obi did not actively participate in or engage with the process.
“You may invite His Excellency Peter Obi here and ask him: what is the ADC position on fuel subsidy? What is the ADC’s framework on security? He doesn’t know, because he’s never been interested,” Abdullahi said.
He added that some politicians appear more focused on securing electoral tickets than on understanding party ideology. “If you say you want to contest the election, and you believe in changing the country, you should know what your party stands for,” he stated.
Abdullahi’s remarks add to ongoing debates around coalition-building and policy clarity among Nigeria’s opposition figures ahead of future elections.
