Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has pledged his full focus on the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa following his loan move to Fulham from AC Milan. Chukwueze, who joins compatriots Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi at Craven Cottage, emphasized the importance of securing maximum points in the two matches.
Upcoming Matches:
– Nigeria vs Rwanda: Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo
– South Africa vs Nigeria: Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein
Chukwueze’s commitment to the national team comes as Nigeria currently sits fourth in Group C with seven points from six matches, trailing leaders South Africa by six points. The Super Eagles will need to win both matches to revive their World Cup hopes. In his recent statement to Fulham TV, Chukwueze said, “For now, I am just focusing on the games. We need the two games — Rwanda and South Africa. I think we have to win both matches to secure our World Cup ticket”.
