A Kaduna State High Court has adjourned till Tuesday, April 14, for ruling on the bail application of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, after the prosecution amended the charges and dropped one co-defendant.
The amended charges were read at the resumed arraignment, and plea was taken. The prosecution removed one of the earlier listed co-defendants, leaving El-Rufai to stand trial alone.
Counsel to El-Rufai, Ubong Akpan, said the court proceedings focused on the fresh charges, which needed further review by the defence team before substantive hearing could proceed.
“A bail application was moved and taken by the court, and the matter was adjourned for ruling,” Akpan said.
