President Bola Tinubu has appointed Stella Din-Jacob, a veteran journalist with over three decades of experience, as the new Executive Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). This appointment marks a significant milestone in the broadcaster’s editorial leadership.
Din-Jacob, hailing from Plateau State, brings a wealth of expertise in broadcasting, newsroom leadership, and editorial management to her new role. A lawyer-turned-journalist, she has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most respected media personalities. Her impressive career trajectory includes senior editorial positions at prominent television stations such as Channels Television, Silverbird Television, and TVC News, where she rose to the position of Director of News.
Throughout her career, Din-Jacob has made significant contributions to newsroom development, training, and mentoring young journalists. She has also played a pivotal role in setting professional standards for ethical and responsible journalism in Nigeria, earning recognition for advancing press freedom and promoting gender representation in the media.
The Federal Government has expressed confidence in Din-Jacob’s ability to drive reforms that will modernize NTA’s news operations and maintain its position as a trusted source of information for Nigerians. The Talented Women’s Network (TWN) has also congratulated Din-Jacob, describing her appointment as a testament to her resilience, leadership, and commitment to excellence in journalism.
