Namibia has laid its founding president, Sam Nujoma, to rest in a solemn state funeral, marking the end of an era for one of Africa’s last great liberation leaders. Nujoma, who played a pivotal role in Namibia’s struggle for independence from South African rule, was honored by national and international dignitaries for his lifelong commitment to freedom and nation-building.

The funeral, held in the capital Windhoek, was attended by African heads of state, global leaders, and thousands of Namibians who gathered to pay their final respects.
