Labour Party Condemns Unprovoked Attack On Chairman, Calls For Thorough Investigation

403

The Labour Party has strongly condemned the physical attack on its National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, by Ms. Precious Oruche, alias ‘Mama P’, a prominent member of the ‘Obidient’ movement. The incident occurred on a Max Air flight from Abuja to Benin, where Oruche allegedly accosted Abure in the queue and launched an unprovoked attack that continued throughout the flight and even after disembarking at Benin Airport.

Details of the Attack
– Unprovoked Assault: Oruche’s attack on Abure was reportedly unprovoked, with eyewitnesses describing the incident as a brazen display of aggression.
– Continued Assault on Flight: Despite attempts by flight attendants to intervene, Oruche continued her assault on Abure throughout the flight.
– Security Intervention: Security agents eventually intervened, whisking Abure to safety while Oruche was handed over to the police for questioning.

Labour Party’s Response
The Labour Party is deeply troubled by this incident, which it believes was orchestrated by anti-democratic elements. In a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh, the party called on the Inspector General of Police to thoroughly investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.

– Investigation Demand: The party demands a thorough investigation into the attack, citing concerns over Oruche’s boasts about having contacts within the highest police hierarchy.
– Cyber Bullying Concerns: The Labour Party also expressed concern over Oruche’s cyber bullying, highlighting the severe consequences of such actions on the party and its leadership.

Call to Action
The Labour Party urges its members to remain calm and await the outcome of the investigation. The party is determined to ensure that justice is served and those responsible for the attack are held accountable.
