In line with the International Women’s Day Celebration Tagged ” Give To Gain” the Founder of Just And Chris Humanitarian Development Foundation Chioma Teresa Obasi has empowered 50 widows and orphanages with foodstuff and cash gifts.
In a recent interview, she stated that the empowerment programme is billed to run on 20th and 21st of March in Owerri and Lagos.
She added that widows and orphans are the most forgotten and neglected by both family and society.
She also stated that the International Women’s Day is not just for celebration but for recognising women who carried world’s in silence, for the widow who is healing yet saddled with the responsibility of taking care of her children while parenting alone not because she chose to but because she had to.
She emphasised that the Foundation is recognising the sacrifice, the resurrection and rebirth of motherhood and salutes every strong woman who had to show up for themselves, their children, and for others while no one showed up for them.
She also siad that the palliatives from the foundation will feed homes easing the pain of mothers who prefer to stay hungry in a bid to feed their children.
She also called on well meaning Nigerians and the Government to show more care and give a voice to widows and orphans by empowering them with life changing entrepreneurial skills, soft loans, and scholarships in a bid to integrate them properly into the society for a better Nigeria.
As the Easter holiday approaches she has enjoined religious bodies and institutions to join the bandwagon in taking care of the widows and orphans in their midst.
Established in 2025 the foundation has opened a new chapter in Owerri Imo State and has empowered over a hundred widows and orphans through finance, health scheme, business support, entrepreneurial skills and manpower development.
