A tragic incident occurred in Oro Ago community, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, where gunmen suspected to be kidnappers shot and killed a hotelier, Chief David Oladepo Aina, alias Kebe. The attack happened on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Kebe Hotel, where the gunmen attempted to kidnap Aina but met resistance, resulting in his death.
Details of the Incident
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 4 pm when the gunmen invaded the community. A witness stated that the gunmen shot Aina when he resisted their attempt to kidnap him. The State Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident but denied reports of any abductions during the attack.
Police Statement
“Nobody was kidnapped, but one hotelier was killed during the attack on the community,” the Police Commissioner stated. The police are likely to increase security measures in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future.
