The Abia State Police Command has successfully apprehended two women, Louis Osueke, 58, and Esther Jude, 42, in connection with a child stealing case in Okpuumuobo, Aba. The arrests were made on September 17, 2025, following a tip-off and a swift operation by the police.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, the suspects stole a 6-year-old girl, Chidinma Uzochukwu, and a 10-month-old baby from an Anglican Church in Okpuumuobo on September 7, 2025. However, thanks to the police’s prompt action, the children were safely rescued and reunited with their family.
The Commissioner disclosed this during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Umuahia on Friday, September 19, 2025, stating that investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of the suspects’ involvement and possible accomplices .
