President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Anite-Uzoka who moves to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

Oyedele, 50, is an economist, accountant, and public policy expert with a strong background in tax reforms. He chairs the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, which overhauled Nigeria’s tax system.

A seasoned professional with 22 years at PwC, Oyedele is also a professor at Babcock University and visiting scholar at Lagos Business School. He holds degrees from Yaba College of Technology and Oxford Brookes University, with executive education from top institutions like LSE and Harvard.

The nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.
