Suspected Herdsmen Kill Labour Party Chairman

Tragedy struck in Igumale Ward 1 of Ado Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State, as the Labour Party Chairman, Mr. Sunday Oche, was reportedly k!lled by suspected armed herdsmen.

The incident reportedly occurred while Mr. Oche was returning from his farm in the company of five others. The group was ambushed by the attackers, leading to the fatal shooting of the Labour Party leader. The five others with him managed to escape, albeit with serious injuries.

The Benue State Labour Party Publicity Secretary, Tersoo Orbunde, confirmed the tragic development, stating that Mr. Oche’s body had been recovered and was awaiting burial.

He said;  “He is a Ward Chairman from Igumale, Sunday Oche. He went to his cassava farm and he was attacked and killed. They have brought the corpse back.

“Our people have gone there to console the family and we are waiting for them on the arrangement for his burial to see how we can come in. The matter has also been reported to the police for necessary action.”
