heanacho, Osimhen Leave Super Eagles’ Camp

52

Two Nigerian top forwards, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Victor Osimhen, have reportedly left the Super Eagles’ camp earlier today, October 15.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Osimhen’s exit from the camp is coming hours before Nigeria’s international friendly game against Mozambique at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 15.

Recall that both Iheanacho and Osimhen played in the friendly game between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Iheanacho scored one of the goals in the 2-2 draw but Osimhen couldn’t score and had to walk away from the match around the 55th minute.

After the game, the coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Pasiero said, “He wasn’t at his best, we’ll evaluate whether to send him back to Naples.

“We always work in coordination with the clubs, so we must have respect just as they have for the national teams. We interface daily with each player.

“Our responsibility is also the physical form of our players. Osimhen is a fantastic player, Napoli needs him, and so do we. So it’s everyone’s responsibility.”

According to a post on the Super Eagles’ official social media pages, Victor Osimhen has to leave the club for “precautionary measure on advice of the medical team”.

As for Kelechi Iheanacho, the Super Eagles forward who seems to be in form currently, has to leave the team’s camp to attend to “pressing personal issues”.

Now that the 27-year-old Iheanacho and the 24-year-old Osimhen are out of the friendly game against Mozambique, the focus of the team’s attack could center around Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen.
