Some hoodlums have allegedly raped an 80-year-old woman to death inside her farm at Costain area in Ore, Odigbo local government area of Ondo state.

The unfortunate Incident which occurred during the week has since  thrown the people of the area into confusion.

The Octogenarian, it was gathered had been reported missing in the community since last Wednesday after she had left for the farm and did not return.

Eyewitness told newsmen that the people of the community suspected that the old woman was raped to death based on the position her corpse was found in the farm.

According to him, there had been cases of rape in the community in  recent time as many women could no longer go to their farms alone.

It was gathered that a suspect known as Sunday, a palm wine tapper, has been arrested by some youths in the community after the mobile phone of the old woman was found in his pocket.

It was also gathered that during interrogation, the suspect alleged that some fulani herdsmen killed the woman.

The suspect has however been handed over to the police.

The police public relations officer Funmi Odunlami confirmed the incident and revealed that investigation is ongoing into the matter.
