Davido Seeks God’s Intervention As Supreme Rules Today

186

Ahead of the Supreme Court ruling on the petition challenging the victory of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the July 2022 gubernatorial election, famous Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has sought God’s intervention.

The Supreme Court on Monday, at the hearing of the petition, fixed Tuesday, May 9 2023, to deliver judgment.

Recall that the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, had earlier set aside the decision of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which nullified the victory of Ademola Adeleke as governor-elect. And affirmed Adeleke as winner of the July 16th 2022, election.

Taking to social media less than 24 hours before the Court ruling, Davido prayed to God for the court to do the right thing.

He wrote: “Osun State Election Petition hearing comes up at the Supreme Court today. We look forward to the judicial affirmation of @AAdeleke_01 (The people’s) mandate. The hardest part is done, winning a free and fair Election. May God let the court do the right thing.”
