Tragic End To Ex. NYSC Member’s Life: Friends Accused Of Murder Over Jealousy

559

A former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Agbakoba Tony, has been killed in Onitsha, Anambra State, barely a month after completing his service in Delta State. Tony, who had recently secured a job at a bank, shared the news with his friends. However, his excitement was short-lived.

The Fateful Day

On the day of the incident, Tony was at his family home in Onitsha, washing his clothes in preparation for his new job. He received a call from friends asking him to meet up, and he left his house, never to return. The family later received the devastating news of his death.

Alleged Circumstances of Death

According to reports, Tony was allegedly strangled to death by his friends, who were motivated by jealousy. The friends were reportedly angry that Tony had secured a job immediately after completing his NYSC service, despite graduating years after them. In a shocking twist, the friends allegedly rushed Tony’s body to a hospital, claiming he had been in an accident. However, the doctor on duty was suspicious of their story, noticing that there were no bruises on Tony’s body, but his tongue was out.

Police Intervention and Arrests

The doctor’s suspicions led to a swift police response. The police arrived and arrested one of the friends who was inside the emergency ward with Tony’s body. The other two friends escaped and are still at large. The arrested friend has reportedly provided useful information on what transpired.

Investigation Underway

The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Tony’s death. The case highlights the dangers of jealousy and the importance of seeking help when dealing with negative emotions.

*Community Reaction*

The news of Tony’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing sadness and outrage over the alleged circumstances of his passing. The case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and support among friends and family.
