Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai is mourning the loss of his sister-in-law, Safiya Ali Rufai, who died on March 20, 2026, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Air Vice Marshal Ali Rufai and a pillar of the family, known for her discipline, devotion, and strong religious values.
Her passing, on the day of Sallah celebrations, adds to the family’s grief, coming years after the loss of two of her daughters. Family and friends are mourning her death and praying for her soul.
Bello El-Rufai, son of the former governor and a member of the House of Representatives, announced the death, highlighting Safiya’s importance in the family. She’s remembered for her commitment to family values and strong faith.
