Pa Akintola Williams held the distinction of being Nigeria’s first indigenous chartered accountant, playing an instrumental role in pioneering and shaping the nation’s accounting profession.

Born in 1919, he dedicated his life to advancing Nigeria’s financial sector.

His journey began with the pursuit of accounting at the University of London, culminating in his qualification as a chartered accountant in 1947.

Upon returning to Nigeria, Pa Williams established his accounting firm, Akintola Williams & Co., a firm that would eventually become Deloitte & Touche, in 1952.
