Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, in the Rigasa area of Kaduna State.
According to the EFCC, Mamman had been on the run following his conviction and sentencing in absentia. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede confirmed the arrest on [insert date], stating that the former minister was sentenced to 75 years imprisonment over corruption-related offences.
Mamman served as Nigeria’s Minister of Power during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The commission said further details on his arraignment and transfer to custody will be released in the coming hours.
The arrest marks a significant development in the EFCC’s ongoing prosecution of high-profile corruption cases involving former public officials.
