Why Building Collapsed In Banana Island – LASEMA

198

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has given an update on the collapsed six-storey building in Banana Island.

The six-storey building collapse occurred at First Avenue, Banana Island, on Wednesday.

However, LASEMA explained that the collapse was “as a result of a truck that ran into the building.”

In a Facebook post, LASEMA confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident, but recovery operations are still ongoing.

The agency assured efforts are ongoing to avoid a secondary incident on the collapse site.

The post reads: “Upon the arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the scene of the incident, a six-storey building under construction was found to have collapsed.

“Information gathered revealed that the building collapsed as a result of a truck that ran into the building.”
