More details have emerged on how a seven story building under construction in high brow Banana Island collapsed on Wednesday, April, 12, 2023 which left many of its workers trapped under the rumbles

We gathered that the building did not follow laid down building construction procedures as it has been ear marked for demolition because the builders went building beyond the mandatory 3 floors approved by the regulatory authorities

Ibrahim Falinloye, a spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the collapse as he said, “It is on First Avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi.NEMA and other emergency responders are busy with rescue operation, but I don’t know yet how many people that are trapped for now”.
