The protest erupted in front of ECWA Gospel Church, where a mass service was being held to honor over 30 people killed in March 29 attacks.
Protesting youths claim security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army, are arresting innocent individuals, including vigilantes who were doing their job. They describe the arrests as “indiscriminate” and “worrisome” .
“We’re grieving, yet they’re arresting our people,” said Fwanju Josiah, a youth. Mark Lere, State Chairman of Youth Wing, CAN, also condemned the arrests.
