Roy Keane Blames Three Man. United Players For Defeat To Man City

85

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed three Red Devils stars over Ilkay Gundogan’s first goal in their FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday.

Describing the goal as ‘brilliant’, the Red Devils captain said three United stars should have done more to prevent the strike.

Man City captain Gundogan fired Pep Guardiola’s side ahead with a stunning volley after just 13 seconds – the fastest FA Cup final goal in history.

It was a dream start to the FA Cup final for Manchester City, who were last month crowned Premier League champions.

The Cityzens could complete a historic treble if they are able to beat Inter Milan in next week’s Champions League final.

Keane was ‘really critical’ of United midfielders Casemiro, Fred and Christian Eriksen, who he said all ‘switched off’.

“It’s a brilliant strike, a brilliant goal,” Keane told ITV Football. “But defensively I think United were switched off.

“I would be really critical of the three midfielders – Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen – they’re all in the wrong position and they’ve all made wrong decisions 10 to 12 seconds into a game.

“Not good enough from experienced players. They were really switched off, it’s poor from Manchester United.”
