The Borno State Police Command has bid a solemn farewell to four of its officers who were killed in a foiled terrorist attack in Nganzai Local Government Area. Inspector Samuel Ezekiel, Inspector Sanusi Mohammed, Police Constable Bitrus Luka, and Police Constable Shaibu Bukar were honoured in a ceremony held in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The fallen officers were laid to rest with full religious rites at the Kawar Maila Burial Ground and the Maximum Prison Burial Ground. The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, led senior officers in paying their last respects to the deceased. The Command’s Imam and Chaplain led prayers for the repose of their souls, hailing the officers’ courage, sacrifice, and dedication to duty.
The police command says the officers will be remembered for their bravery and commitment to protecting the state. The ceremony was a testament to their ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and a reminder of the risks faced by security personnel in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.
