Antonia Agbede Ally, former Managing Director of the Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe (HOW) Foundation, has launched her own non-governmental organization, the Agbede Foundation, in her hometown of Obudu, Cross River State. The launch took place on October 25, 2025, exactly 10 years after she was appointed as the founding MD of the HOW Foundation.
The Agbede Foundation’s logo features burnt orange, a tribute to her late boss and mentor. The organization’s mission is to empower local youth and women in Obudu and surrounding areas through skills acquisition training, mentorship, and guidance programs. The goal is to equip individuals with globally transferable skills, enabling them to earn a decent living and improve their standard of living.
The launch event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Paramount Ruler of Obudu, HRM Chief Felix Okudare, and other esteemed guests. In celebration of the launch, the Agbede Foundation distributed over 337 monetary tokens of N10,000 each, generously donated by a Northern anonymous donor and his wife. Hundreds of gifts, food, and drinks were also given to the guests.
