Ebonyi state government has solicited the support of the police especially the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Augustina Ogbodo and her team of patriotic officers.

Commissioner for justice Dr. Ben Oddo, made this known while paying a courtesy call on the new police commissioner at the Command headquarters in Abakaliki recently.

The Honourable Commissioner notes that the visit is geared towards soliciting the support of the new Commissioner of Police and her team of patriotic officers, in  the establishment and delivery of restorative justice system in Ebonyi State.

Barrister Oddo said: “No one can make a difference all by themselves. As a matter of fact, no sane individual begins the journey of national transformation without soliciting the support of relevant stakeholders.

He further noted: When you work alone, you get just a fraction of work done, whereas the result is different when you work with a team of dedicated minds.

This was why we solicited the support of the new Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, CP Augustina Ogbodo and her team of patriotic officers”.

On her part the commissioner of police Ebonyi state CP Augustina Ogbodo, assured the commissioner of justice and his team of endless support and backing of the Police in achieving the lofty goal of a transformed justice system in Ebonyi State.

The Honourable Attorney General and commissioner for justice Ebonyi state,  also assured CP Ogbodo that his ministry will work with the Police to eradicate unnecessary torture of suspects in Police custody, unqualified Police officers posing as solicitors in law courts, among other things.

The commissioner for justice Ebonyi state Barrister Ben Oddo, however, expressed confidence that with the concerted efforts of the Police, Ministry of Justice and other stakeholders, the transformative vision of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and that of his humble self, committed staffs of the state ministry of justice, will become a reality.
