A building under construction in Lagos has collapsed, trapping a yet-to-be-ascertained number of people in the rubble.
The building, which is located in Banana Island in Ikoyi, collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, trapping site workers, visitors and food vendors in the rubble.
Ibrahim Falinloye, a spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the collapse as he said, “It is on First Avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi.NEMA and other emergency responders are busy with rescue operation, but I don’t know yet how many people that are trapped for now”.
