190

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has lost his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai. She passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, due to age-related health issues that worsened after learning about her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). El-Rufai had been overseeing her care before her death.

The family announced her passing, asking for prayers and forgiveness for her shortcomings. Her grandson, Bello El-Rufai, confirmed the news, stating, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. From Allah SWT we came and to Him we shall all return” .
