A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief (Dr.) Kodilichukwu Okelekwe has joined the growing lists of Nigerians who have responded to the sudden and shocking death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Senator Ubah, who represented Anambra South Senatorial zone before his death, died in London on Saturday, 27th, July.

In a statement issued by the former Senatorial candidate of the APC Senatorial election in the 2023 general polls in Anambra state, Okelekwe described as shocking the passage of Ifeanyi Ubah.

Part of the statement reads: “The news of the sudden death of my dear friend and brother, distinguished Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Ebubechukwuzo an Nnewi) came as a rude shock, one that I am yet to fully comprehend.”

‘Even now, many of us wish it were a nightmare from which we could wake from, hoping for his family and aides to debunk this tragic news. Alas and very unfortunately, our deepest fears have become reality.” The statement also said.

Okelekwe also praised Ubah for his philanthropic natures, describing his personae as God’s gift to mankind. H pe also said the entire nation would miss him particularly in the area of charity.

He said: “As a businessman, politician and philanthropist, Ifeanyi was vibrant, energetic, kind, and fearless in his pursuit of exemplary representation for his people, both in the Senate and in his aspirations to lead the state as Governor.”.

According to him, Senator Ubah’s influence transcended political parties, age groups, regions, and even Nigeria. He made an indelible mark on history. His profound love for his people earned him their unwavering support, even when he ran for Senate under a lesser-known party.

“Just last week, during his consultation tour seeking our party’s ticket, Ifeanyi was in my hometown, Nibo. He had wanted me to host him, but unfortunately, I was unable to be in Anambra at the time.”

He also stated: “It is profoundly unfortunate that we have lost one of Anambra’s finest sons, of the South East, and Nigeria as a whole, in his prime. His passion for Anambra, especially for its young people, knew no bounds.”

“While we are deeply pained by the sudden demise of this astute businessman, change agent, and innovative thinker, we can not question God but pray for his soul to find eternal rest.”

“As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said, “When a great man dies, for years, the light he leaves behind him lies on the paths of men.” While we mourn, we must remain convinced that Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah led a life of significant impact, and this legacy transcends his death.”
