At least six people have been confirmed dead and six others injured following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in Zamfara State.
The blast occurred earlier today in an undisclosed location within the state, security sources said. Emergency responders have since evacuated the injured to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released details on the target or those responsible for the attack. Security operatives have cordoned off the area as investigations begin.
Zamfara has faced recurring security challenges in recent years, including banditry and armed violence, which have affected several communities across the state.
Officials say they are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion and to prevent further incidents. The death toll may rise as more information emerges from the scene.
