Azeez Adesina Fashola, popularly called Naira Marley, has spoken on his alleged rift and the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
Recall that Mohbad had unfortunately died on September 12 and was surprisingly buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Following the death of the 27-year-old singer, some Nigerians have called out Naira Marley and some members of Marlian Records, including a music promoter, Sam Larry.
But in a conversation with former presidential media aide Reno Omokri on Wednesday night, Naira Marley maintained that he had no hand in Mohbad’s death.
He stated that he had on multiple occasions tried to get help for the late rapper when his (Mohbad) partner informed him of the late singer’s suicidal behaviour.
He said, “When I visited him in the company of his mum and dad, I went to see him in the room. He said only his mum and dad knew what was wrong with him. His mum and dad said they wanted to take care of him, and I begged them to take care of him and not allow anything to happen to him.
“The reason why I made a video of my conversation with him was after the allegation, and his girl called me that he locked himself up and wanted to kill himself.
“When I spoke with him. He later apologised. And he said he was feeling paranoid that was the reason. I spoke to him to free his mind of worries and negative thoughts.”
