Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old boy in Azumini community, Isiokpo, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the headless body of the boy identified as Destiny Peter, was found in a bush in the community on Friday, November 12.
A resident, who spoke to Punch on condition of anonymity, claimed that such a thing had never happened in the community.
“This may be a ritual killing, but nobody knows for sure. Let the government and the police come and help us get to the bottom of the killing of this poor innocent boy. We heard that the boy was living with his aunt, but she was not around when somebody came to take him out. When she came back, she did not see the boy and she started shouting and crying,” he added.
Victory said Destiny’s body was found following the intervention of some youths after a girl stated that she sighted him with an unidentified man moving towards a bush.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident said two suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder.
