President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to approve two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) following the resignations of Engineer Farouk Ahmed and Gbenga Komolafe.
In a statement, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the nominations of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA. Both nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.
Eyesan brings nearly 33 years of experience with NNPC and its subsidiaries, while Engineer Mohammed has held key roles including Managing Director of Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company and Nigerian Gas Company. The Senate is expected to expedite the confirmation process for the nominees.
