President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons for clinching their record 10th title at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following their stunning 3-2 comeback win over host nation Morocco on Saturday night in Rabat.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the team’s resilience and unwavering commitment to victory, describing their performance as symbolic of the determination Nigerians are known for.

“The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit,” the statement read.

The Nigerian side, already the most successful team in African women’s football, further extended their dominance by dramatically lifting their 10th WAFCON trophy.

President Tinubu noted that the team’s success was not only a source of joy for millions of Nigerians but also a proud representation of the nation’s potential when hard work and unity are applied.
