Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement To Begin October 2, Police Confirms

The Jigawa State Police Command has announced that the enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence nationwide on October 2, 2025. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, online registration and application for the permits are already ongoing via the Police Specialized Services Automation Project (POSSAP) portal at (link unavailable)

How to Apply

To obtain a tinted glass permit, applicants must:
– Create an Account: Sign up using their National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), or Tax Identification Number (TIN)
– Verify Account: Confirm account via email
– Select Service: Log in and choose “Tinted Glass Permit” service
– Upload Documents: Provide vehicle details and supporting documents
– Submit Application: Carefully confirm all details before submission and make payment as directed

Important Details

– Vehicle inspection and fingerprint biometric capturing will be scheduled at designated Police Intelligence Departments after application submission
– Jigawa applicants can have their biometric capturing done free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse
– Applicants are advised to avoid middlemen or unauthorized persons seeking to exploit them

Call for Public Cooperation

SP Adam emphasized that the initiative promotes transparency and ensures road safety for all, urging the public to cooperate for smooth enforcement. Non-compliance may result in legal consequences. Motorists are advised to begin registration promptly ahead of the October 2 enforcement date.¹
