Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arch. Sonny Echono, has for the umpteenth time expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was yesterday in a meeting of APC stakeholders in Benue South Senatorial District where participants envisioned the hope of harping on his goodwill among the Idoma and Igede people to expand her support-base in Benue South to further consolidate her strength in the state.

According to Mr Ochojila Adah, who participated in the meeting, it was believed that going forward, Benue South would better be strengthened, as the TETFund boss had assured the stakeholders of his continued support for the party, Mr President, and the leader of the party in the state, Sen. George Akume, whom he said he had enjoyed a long-standing relationship with.

Arch. Sonny Echono is a cerebral technocrat and committed politician. He enjoys the love and admiration of the entire Benue people for his detribalised disposition and his exploits first as civil servant and later as presidential appointee.

It could be recalled that as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, he singlehandedly facilitated the establishment of the Federal College of Education Odugbo and played a key role in the establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo among other things. He has, as well, extended job opportunities to numerous Benue sons across ethnic groups as TETFund ES.

Given his overwhelming goodwill among the Benue people, particularly in Idoma and Igedeland, APC members in Zone C appear confident of consolidation prospect as the party looks to be tighting all ‘loosed nuts’ to maintain her majority status in the state.

Present at the meeting were: Comrade Austin Agada; Prof. John Enyi; Bishop Pinot Ogbaji; former Reps member for Otukpo/Ohimini, Chief Agbo Ogah; and former Reps member for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo, Rt Hon. David Idoko among others.
