Former Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North Senatorial District, has died. His death was confirmed by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
Governor Oborevwori described Nwaoboshi as a “proud son of Delta State” and a “courageous defender of the Anioma cause”. He recalled the senator’s impactful service at the National Assembly, where he chaired the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs.
“He was a committed and passionate leader” who advocated for the development of the Niger Delta and Delta State, Oborevwori said in a statement. Nwaoboshi also served as a two-time chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.
