Rotary Club Of Ojodu Enhances Education At Oke-Ira Primary School With Key Donations

In a bold demonstration of its unwavering commitment to education and community development, the Rotary Club of Ojodu, on January 23, 2025, donated vital educational materials to Oke-Ira Primary School, Ogba, in Ojodu LCDA. This impactful initiative, part of the Club’s signature “Back to School Programme,” reaffirms Rotary’s dedication to equipping young learners with the tools necessary for academic success and personal growth.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the President of Rotary Club of Ojodu, Rotarian Barrister Osi-Evans Ikphunuekhai {PHF}, emphasized the significance of this gesture, stating that In alignment with Rotary’s commitment to education and community service, the club is proud to deliver these essential materials. ‘’We believe strongly in the importance of equipping every child with the tools for a brighter future, enhancing learning opportunities, and inspiring growth among the students.”

The Headmaster of Oke-Ira Primary School, Mr. A. A. Makinde, expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the school’s management, staff and students. He remarked that the generous donation from Rotary Club of Ojodu will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the students. ‘’The Club promise was made last year, and true to their words, they delivered items that address the key needs of the school. These materials will be put to the best use for the benefit of the students. Remarkably, none of them have children or relations here, yet they made sure our students’ needs were met. God bless them all.”

Representative of the Executive Secretary of the Ikeja Local Government Education Authority, Mrs. Funmilola Akinsoto lauded the Club’s thoughtful intervention and noted that “The Education Authority is immensely grateful for these items, which will significantly improve the learning experience for the students. I encourage that this noble gesture marks the beginning of a long-standing relationship between the club and the school, as there are still other pressing needs that deserve attention.”

Since its charter in 2005, Rotary Club of Ojodu has remained steadfast in its mission to create meaningful impacts in the community. Over the years, the club has successfully implemented numerous initiatives, including clean water projects, medical outreach programs, and empowerment schemes for women and youth. The “Back to School Programme” is yet another evidence to the club’s enduring commitment to service and community upliftment.

The donation, which included notebooks, writing materials, school bags, and other essential supplies, is designed to enhance the learning environment and better prepare students for academic success.

Rotary Club of Ojodu continues to champion education and community development, standing as a beacon of hope and a driving force for positive change in society.
