Photos and videos from the funeral service of the late mother of Afrobeat singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid have surfaced on social media.

It would be recalled that Juliana Balogun nee Oshineye Dawodu Olowosago died on August 18.

A video showing sorrowful-looking Wizkid alongside other members of his family holding candles in honour of the deceased at the candlelight procession had gone viral earlier.

The family of the singer are currently at the wake and tributes event for the deceased which is ongoing at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, and Casino, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The funeral service takes place on Friday, October 13 at RCCG City of David COD Church Road, Dideolu Estate, off, Ligali Ayorinde St, Victoria Island, Lagos. at 10 a.m.

 

Born on July 26, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His father married three wives.

Wizkid’s mother was a familiar sight at most of his concerts and events.

She was born on July 14, 1957 and is survived by her husband, M.O Balogun, and four children, namely Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) and many grandchildren.
