A Catholic Priest is receiving heat after he was accused of flogging a 50-year-old teacher at the school he oversees.

Reverend Fr. Jude Muokwe, a priest of Roman Catholic Church, Awka Diocese, is alleged to have assaulted Mrs Ikeorah Maureen in her classroom during school hours.
The victim is a widow from Umuanugwo village, Ifitedunu. She’s a Primary 6 teacher at Angel’s Primary School, Ifitedunu.

The incident happened on 12th February 2025.

Some sources claim the teacher had raised questions after the priest allegedly reneged on a contract agreement he made with the teachers over the pupils’ lesson fees.

This allegedly caused the priest to flog her.

Speaking after the incident, the teacher, a grandmother, is seen crying while narrating what transpired.

She said: “He came and started fl0gging me and sl@pping me. He claimed I called the teachers for a meeting. I did not call any meeting.

“See my face, see my back, see my legs.”
