Former head coach of the Super Eagles, Adegboye Onigbinde has revealed that only the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) can explain why Bruno Labbadia was appointed to manage the senior national team.
The German tactician was named to take over from Finidi George on Tuesday, August 27 and faces a tough challenge as he attempts to help Nigeria qualify for the Nations and World Cup.
He coached several clubs in Germany including Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Hamburg. However, Onigbinde feels that the issue with Nigeria football is not technical but an internal problem and only the Football Association knows why Labbadia was appointed.
“It is only the people that took the decision that can best explain why Labbadia was appointed as Super Eagles head coach.
” Like I always tell you, the problem of Nigerian football is not technical administrative. No matter how good a coach is, if the administration of the game is not in order then there is a problem.
“Haven’t we have array of great talents in the Super Eagles? What has been the result? Mind you, the first time I handle the Super Eagles, I had a pack of young players. So it’s not a matter of having an array of talents.”
