The Grand Second Vice President of Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Lagos Grand Commandery, Sir Charles Okonkwo, joined the Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, Most Rev Alfred Adewale Martins, to mobilize support for CATECHISTS and catechesis in Lagos Archdiocese.
The event, which was tagged a “Breakfast with the Archbishop”, took place at Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, was meant for Forty top busines executives.
In his speech, the Archbishop reminded the top executives that everyone was called to evangelize as Christians as commanded by Christ himself, when he said in Matt 28:19-20 “Go forth and make recipes of all nations”.
The Archbishop thereafter charged the top executives to support the catechist vocation by giving, through training of Catechists, supporting their welfare package, promoting and glamorizing catechesis.
Sir Charles Okonkwo in his conversation with the Archbishop, thanked him for finding him worthy to come share breakfast with him. He further pledged to do all he possibly can to promote catechesis and support the Catechist vocation.
Charles Okonkwo, a member of KSJI Commandery 642, Falomo, Lagos, has been in the forefront of promoting catechetical activities, and opines that producing quality Catechists is critical to sustaining the Catholic faith.
