The total number of persons affected by covid-19 as at Monday, February 1, 2021 in Nigeria was 676
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in its daily update on Monday night.
It was the second consecutive day that Nigeria would record less than 1,000 cases.
According to the NCDC, in the last 24 hours, 1,286 recoveries were recorded.
It noted that the discharges included 776 community recoveries in Lagos State, and 96 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
But 21 new deaths were also recorded.
18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Monday.
Again, Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 227.
Rivers State recorded 73 new cases while Niger State recorded 69 new cases.
Also, Plateau State recorded 56 new infections while the FCT recorded 50.
Others are from Kano (44), Oyo (43), Ogun (27), Gombe (18), Ondo (15), Enugu (10), Osun (10), Cross River (8), Edo (8), Nasarawa (7), Bauchi (4), Kaduna (3), Ekiti (2), and Zamfara (2).
The total number of confirmed cases is now 106,275.
So far, 106,275 recoveries and 1,607 fatalities have been recorded.
