Ademola Lookman, Nigeria’s star forward, has downplayed personal ambitions, saying his focus at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is on helping the Super Eagles succeed . Despite being on a rich vein of form, scoring three goals and providing assists in Morocco, Lookman insists he’s prioritizing team success over individual accolades.
“We’re in the quarter-finals now, and our next opponent will be tough,” Lookman said. “I care about the team’s performance, not personal awards.”
Lookman played a key role in Nigeria’s 4-0 thrashing of Mozambique, scoring one goal and setting up others for Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams . With Nigeria still in contention, Lookman could surpass his previous AFCON goal record – but for him, the team’s progress comes first .
