Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has strengthened his position within the All Progressives Congress (APC) by attending the inaugural meeting of the party’s Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation. The committee, chaired by Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, aims to address internal disputes and emerging threats within the party ¹ ² ³.
The committee comprises prominent governors, including AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), and Uba Sani (Kaduna), as well as federal ministers and senior party leaders. Governor Buni emphasized the need for strategic engagements and wide consultations to deliver inclusive solutions, prioritizing party unity and collective interests .
Fubara’s attendance signals his growing influence within the APC, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in late 2025. The move is seen as a strategic step to consolidate support in Rivers State and the South-South region .
