A former Senatorial candidate in the 2023 elections, Dr. Obinna Uzoh has expressed shock and sadness over the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who passed on, on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Ubah, who died in London, represented Anambra South Senatorial zone at the upper chamber of the national assembly.

In a statement issued by the former Senatorial candidate and Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of Gocus Group, Uzoh described the death of Ubah as a great loss to Nigeria, who had much to offer.

Part of the statement reads: “We are saddened by the news of the passing on of my younger brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Capital Oil and Gas Limited.”

According to him, he said: “By the his demise, our Anambra South Senatorial District, Anambra State and Nigeria have lost an illustrious son, who has done much in nation-building.”

“In his eventful life, he made a mark as a businessman, playing at top level in the oil and gas sector; a politician, representing Anambra South at the Senate and philanthropist, touching the lives of the less privileged and down trodden.” He further said.

“Even though we were at political divide, being in different political parties, we shared the same dream of using our resources and political office to ensure that the voices of our people are heard and that their needs are catered to.”

“I sincerely condole with his wife, children, siblings, relatives and our people in Anambra South Senatorial District and Anambra State Government and Nigeria for the passage of this titan who will be sorely missed.”

“For my family and I, there are tears in our eyes and sorrow in our hearts. Dear Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, fare thee well. We pray that God Almighty will grant you eternal rest, while giving those you left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” He concluded.
