Ahead of this Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections, former President Goodluck Jonathan has admonished politicians to stay off do-or-die politics.
He stated that the Saturday elections aspirants should not force themselves on the people.
Jonathan gave the warning on Thursday at Sampou community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State shortly after paying a condolence visit to Governor Douye Diri, who lost his father, Pa Abraham Diri
“Leadership is not by force. It is about serving the people. So, if you want to lead the people, you cannot kill them before you lead them,” he stated.
Governorship and House Assembly elections would be held across states in Nigeria, with high hopes that the polls will be free, fair and transparent.
