Nigeria play hosts Argentina in the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The first round of the knockout stages will see the Flying Eagles have a huge mountain to soar over as they have been paired to face host nation Argentina, next Wednesday.
Despite leading Group D with six points after two group-stage matches, the Flying Eagles were condemned to a third-place finish after they lost 2-0 to Brazil on Friday.
As is customary with the 24-team competition, four of the six third-placed teams are to be matched with the winners of groups A, B, C, and D.
Hence, Nigeria will face Group A winners Argentina, who finished from their group with three wins, all nine points, and a goal difference of +9.
