A facebook influencer, Ogechi Okechukwu and her medical doctor accomplice have been arrested by the Bayelsa state police command for allegedly running a fake medical condition.
It was gathered that Ogechi who connived with her doctor friend faked suffering from a life-threatening illness and appealed for support from unsuspecting well-meaning donors.
They raised 800k for her to pay for her ‘life threatening’ surgery. Claiming she had no one, no family. She kept demanding for more money.
Luck ran out against her when on the day of the surgery, the Facebook community sent someone to assist her as she was alone, but on getting to her location, it was discovered that the very sick Ogechi Okechukwu, had vanished from the hospital, Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa.
They searched for her, opened investigations, only to find out she was not documented in the clinic.
Investigation also reveal that her doctor accomplice, names with held, gave her bed space and set the surgery apparatus on her perfectly, to give the impression that she was really suffering from a life-threatening condition,.
It was also gathered that the doctor accomplice ives her fake reports, prescriptions, etc to make her look the part of a critically ill patient.
