Enugu College Of Education Holds 14th Joint Matriculation

The Enugu State College of Education, Technical, Enugu in affiliation with the University of Nigeria Nsukka officially admitted her freshmen into different academic programmes of the institution for 2023/2024 academic session.

The event took place on Friday, 14th June , 2024 at the College Convocation Arena.

This was contained in a statement issued by  Mrs. Chinwe Ani
PRO, of the institution.

The statement also said that the Provost of the College, Dr. Stella Chinweudo Ekwueme while presenting her welcome address, informed the new students that the College management in collaboration with the State Government has provided every worthwhile opportunity to prepare the students for the task of nation building and world technological development.

The provost, according to the statement, also maintained that the availability of quality and dedicated staff in the College who are always ready not only to enrich the students with knowledge, skills and values but also attend to their personal challenges underscores the readiness of the College to put them on the right track. She encouraged them to remain focused in their studies as a lot of talents have been deposited in their hands by nature while the College provides the opportunities for them to strive.

Dr. Ekwueme further advised the students to respect all rules and regulations guiding the students of the institution. According to her, ” the College maintains a zero tolerance to cultism and drug abuse. I earnestly encourage you to contribute your quota in sustaining this zero tolerance by disassociating yourself from any involvement in unwholesome activities. This will enable you refrain from all sorts of vices that would be injurious to your career in the College.” The statement said.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Prof. Romanus Chukwuduruo Ezeokonlwo in his address presented by the Dean, Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education, Prof. Anaele enjoined the students of the Degree Progamme Unit of the College to be good ambassadors of the University by living up to the highest standard expected of them my the University authority as the University certificate is only awarded to those who are found worthy in character and learning. He added that the University management is determined in producing truly educated, civilized and law abiding citizens of the country who will become proud ambassadors of the University. He warned the new students against involvement in some social vices which may lead to suspension or outright expulsion of the student from the University environment if found guilty. He also encouraged them to give priority to their studies while other interest can follow.

The highlight of the event was oath of allegiance by the new students and about Five Hundred Students (500) of NCE, Degree and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) were formally admitted.
