At least 1,724 persons have died so far from the deadly COVID-19 in Nigeria. This is the figure released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)
The centre also said that the total number of infections have reached 144, 521 cases on as at Friday, February 12.
The data released by the NCDC also showed that the infection has a record of 1005 new cases.
Lagos had the highest number of 204 new cases, while Kwara recorded 155.
Oyo (124), Plateau (80), FCT (75), Edo (56), Osun (48), Ondo (41), Kaduna (40), Rivers (40), and Taraba (35).
Others include Borno (32), Ekiti (21), Ogun (20), Kano (14), Bayelsa (8), Delta (7), Bauchi (3) and Jigawa (2).
In the record made available, 24 deaths were recorded. This has left the number of deceased at 1734.
Stating the numbers of discharged, the unit said, “Our discharges today include 408 community recoveries in Lagos State and 99 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.”
